To operate the Heritage WebOPAC use the icons situated in the button bar at the top of the screen. Put the mouse over a button to see its function described in the top left hand corner of the screen (Internet Explorer only). If a button is greyed out it is not active, but may become active on a different screen.

Login - Allows you to login a new user (without first logging the existing user out).

General search - Activates the basic search screen which lets you perform a detailed search select whether you want brief or full results and specify which fields you want to see.

Advanced Search - Activates the advanced search screen which lets you perform a detailed search, selecting record fields and medium, and display brief or full results.

Brief Results (available from Full Results screen) - Displays a list of hits in batches of up to ten records, showing only the fields you chose to display when you ran the search.

Detailed Results (available from Brief Results screen) - Displays full records in batches of up to ten records and allows you to scroll through them.

Previous Hits - (available from any Results screen, except the first screen in the batch). Displays previous batch of results.

Next Hits - (available from any Results screen, except last screen in the batch). Displays next batch of results.

Help - Activates on line help.

Logout - logs user out and returns to the login screen.
